DCT De-Emphasizes Software; Names new CEO

February 3, 2015

Hello Colleagues:

Document Capture Technologies has seen many changes during the past few years, both in the markets we serve and in our business.  However, there have been two constants:  first and foremost, the strength of customer base; second, our superior document scanner products.  The purpose of this letter is to share news of organizational changes at DCT, a renewed focus on our core competencies, and to highlight our priorities in 2015.

The past year was both challenging and exciting for us as a business. We completed the development of a scanner incorporating a MICR reader, and we invested heavily in expansion of our software capabilities. In January 2015, we made the decision to de-emphasize our R&D and go to market investment in our software platform, SimpleECM. Although we maintain the valuable software IP, we are doubling down on optimizing our hardware technology, launching the MICR product and helping our existing customers grow.

As a result of this shift, Carolyn Ellis replaced Karl Etzel as CEO on February 1, 2015.  Karl was instrumental supporting several hardware and software initiatives at DCT and he will be missed.  Most of you know Carolyn already as she has been a key member of the DCT team for over 9 years.  She will actually hold both titles, CEO and CFO, and we are very excited to have her step into new areas of responsibility with the support of a great team around her.

We join Carolyn and the entire DCT team in thanking you for our partnership and in wishing you a great 2015.

Sincerely,

DCT Board of Directors

Richard “Bo” Dietl
