Sharing Scans Made Simple with DocuWare PaperScan for WhatsApp

New Windsor NY, – June 27, 2016 – WhatsApp has become a world-wide communication staple, especially for students. In combination with DocuWare’s PaperScan, they can comfortably scan homework or any document with a smartphone and share it via WhatsApp. Since the scan app automatically adjusts and trims the documents, the result is significantly better than with a regular photo.

At the end of 2013, Document Management specialist, DocuWare, released PaperScan, a free scan app that turns ordinary Apple and Android smartphones into a mobile document scanner. In its new version 2.1.1, the app works seamlessly with WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is a popular communication tool especially with students. They can now use PaperScan to quickly scan homework, reports or excerpts from books and newspapers with their smartphone – and share them with friends via WhatsApp.

Here’s how it works: once a user holds the smartphone over a page, PaperScan will automatically detect the page and trim it to fit before scanning. The scan can then be easily uploaded to WhatsApp and sent to a single recipient or a group. Multiple pages may also be sent as a single document, since WhatsApp supports PDF as a file format. To send a chapter from a book or a newspaper article, the user drags a rectangle over the section in PaperScan before sharing it via WhatsApp. Thanks to several available printer apps, you can also print all of this school work in high quality.

DocuWare PaperScan for all iPhones (Version 5 and above) and Samsung models (Galaxy starting with S4) as well as similar devices is available to download for free from the AppStore or PlayStore.
