Silver Spring, Md., August 15, 2017 – Through a new partnership with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), AIIM has acquired new capabilities and program offerings in privacy and data protection.
Beginning with an inaugural class in early October, AIIM becomes an official trainer for three ANSI-accredited certification programs including Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S. (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). These new courses complement and expand AIIM’s existing training and certification portfolio.
According to Jesse Wilkins, Director of Professional Development at AIIM, “Privacy is a serious consideration for every organization and it’s not enough to be familiar with what the various laws and regulations require. Organizations must be able to execute on privacy initiatives while still supporting their overall business goals & objectives.”
IAPP executives appreciate how critical AIIM’s information management approaches to records management, data inventory, information governance, etc. can be in operationalizing a privacy initiative. Similarly, IAPP’s training programs and supporting content provide AIIM members with a solid understanding of privacy principles and practices.
Peggy Winton, AIIM President/CEO adds, “The cross-pollination of our respective expertise and content assets will result in a more comprehensive body of knowledge for both of our communities. We are delighted with this strategic business partnership.”
Details on the CIPP class to be held October 3 – 4 are available here.
